This interesting and rare 19th century colour lithograph plate by George Ellis and George Viner is an illustration of a life size dissection of the face, showing the muscles and blood vessels.
George Ellis was a professor of anatomy at University College in London. Between 1863 and 1867, together with his artist, George Ford they produced 58 plates. The accuracy of this illustration plate is exceptional and it was printed in colour by Mintern Brothers.
