This Victorian leather cricket ball trophy which would have been used in the match in 1884 bears a white metal plaque that reads.

Croome v Defford. Presented to Hon C J Coventry for bowling 10 wickets in 2nd Innings of Defford for 12 Runs. Aug 6th 1884. The initials are also written in ink on the ball.

This wonderful early trophy ball comes with a later wooden display stand and would make a handsome addition to a collection of cricket memorabilia.

Date: 1884.

Height on stand: 14 cm (5 1/2").

Total weight: 222 grams.

Condition: Good antique condition with wear and a small repair to leather ball. Plaque has small marks, bruises and tarnish. Please see pictures.
