Antique Pair of French Fencing Foils by Louis Rochetir the blades are made of steel, with brass guards, bound grips on rectangular wooden handles and brass pommels.

Dates c1880 or maybe a little earlier.

Very good period condition. Blades are straight and true, nicely-tempered and retain lots of their original springiness.

They have not been over cleaned and are perfect for display.

109cm long.

Fencing was an extremely popular sport in Europe so there were many gentleman's private fencing clubs in England and France towards the end of the 19th Century. It is unusual to find a matching pair in such good condition.
