This fine mahogany ballot box which dates from the late 18th to early 19th century would have been used in a Gentleman's Club for secret voting on new members or other important issues.

The handsome Georgian box has a circular funnel in which voters would place their hand and discreetly drop a clay ball into either the left or right side to cast their vote. The two drawers are fitted with decorated brass knobs and are beautifully made with dovetail joints.

Comes with a bag of clay voting balls.

A very nice quality piece that has a wonderful patina, is over two hundred years old and looks fantastic on display. Would make a super decorative piece for a golf club, hotel, bar, shop, Gentleman's Club or perfect for display in the home.
