This handsome Georgian candle stand which dates from c1820 is made of fruitwood, has a beautiful patina and has real charm.

The candle stand has a turned base and stem with a circular top which can be raised and lowered by a wooden thumb screw to your preferred height. This was designed to adjust your candle height when reading, writing or doing needlecraft.

Material: Fruitwood (Most probably pear or apple).

Date: Georgian - c1820.

Dimensions when closed: 21 cm (8 1/4") High. 15 cm (6") Diameter.

Height when extended: 27 cm (10 1/2").

Weight: 732g.

Condition: Nice antique condition with signs of use in keeping with age, Some small chips, nibbles, cracks, surface scratches and marks. Adjustable screw works and stays in place. Has a beautiful patina and nice rich colour. Some warping, there is a crack that runs across the base and sits slightly uneven. Please see pictures.
