This fabulous and rare Edwardian circular sovereign holder is crafted in 18ct gold and has a foliate textured case.

This stunning sovereign holder is by goldsmith Horace Woodward & Co Ltd (they were aquired by Adie Brothers in 1919), is fully hallmarked for 18ct gold, dates from 1903 and is excellent quality being a nice heavy weight.

Sovereign cases in 18ct of this age are extremely rare and collectable and would make a special gift or a wonderful collector's piece.

Materials: 18ct yellow gold.

Hallmarked: Fully hallmarked for 18 carat gold. London. Date letter h for 1903. Maker's mark for Horace Woodward & Co Ltd. The piece is hallmarked on all sections.

Size: 5 cm x 3.3 cm. 2" x 1 1/4".

Weight 22.98 g in total.

Condition: Good used antique working condition with only light signs of use in keeping with age. Some small surface dings and a slight bulge where the hallmark is stamped on the back. The main spring works well. Clasp works well and is tight. Spring lid works well but can sometimes be a little sticky on opening. Very clear hallmarks to the inner lid, outer case, holder section and top ring. Please see pictures.
