This stunning set of 12 boxed antique Japanese bronze Kozuka handled knives date from the Meiji period (1868 - 1912) and have white metal blades that are marked with a fish type character.

Each beautiful bronze handle is wonderfully decorated on both sides with real gold highlights which show off the craftsman's skill for detail and feature things such as a Samurai, tiger, carp and birds.

Material: Bronze. White Metal. Gold.

Date: Meiji period c1880.

Marks: Each one has a mark of a fish type character.

Length: 20.5 cm (8") approx.

Total weight including box: 638 g.

Condition: Excellent antique condition with some light signs of use in keeping with age. Some minor surface scratches and wear. No dents or breaks. Please see pictures.
