This antique Japanese letter opener has a Kozuka handle, dates from the Meiji period and has a silver blade that is marked with a fish type character.
The beautiful handle is wonderfully decorated on both sides with real gold highlights which show off the craftsman's skill for detail and this one has a wonderful floral design.
Material: Copper. White metal (Tests as silver). Gold.
Date: Meiji period c1880.
Marks: Marked with a fish type character.
Length: 20.5 cm (8") approx.
Weight: 34 g.
Condition: Excellent antique condition with some light signs of use in keeping with age. Some minor surface scratches and wear. Please see pictures. Comes in a gift box.
