This handsome spirit hip flask which has a detachable solid silver cup and hinged flip / bayonet top is made by W. C. Griffiths of Birmingham in 1911.
The outer of the top half is covered in rich brown Crocodile effect leather, there is a sight level both sides and the flask is curved on one side so it slips into a pocket nicely, making it a wonderfully tactile item.
Hallmarked to the base and cap - W. C. Griffiths, Birmingham for 1911. The bayonet top cap seals well and does not leak.
No inscription or monogram.
This handsome hip flask would make a lovely usable gift.

Very good used antique condition. Signs of light use in keeping with age. The hinged lid closes perfectly with no leaks. The cup slides on and off of the flask well and stays firmly in place. Some very light scratches. The leather is in very sound condition. There are 3 dings on the base of the cup. One very very slight spot on the cap which only notices on very close inspection.
