This handsome Staffordshire Union Of Golf Clubs trophy shield which has a hallmarked silver plaque is engraved with details of the prize winners and dates from 1931.

The oak shield has a ribbon style top with Staffordshire Union Of Golf Clubs engraved in a decorative font together with a knotted rope. The main plaque is engraved with details of the event and prize winners.

Scarf Shield 1931. Won by South Staffordshire G C.

The silver shield is fully hallmarked for sterling silver, Birmingham 1931 and maker's M & B Marples & Beasley.

A nice interesting piece of golfing history that looks great on display and would make a great collector's piece for a golf fan.

Material: Oak. Solid silver.

Date: 1931.

Hallmark: Lion for sterling silver. Anchor for Birmingham. Date letter G for 1931 and maker's mark M & B for Marples & Beasley.

Dimensions: 14.5 cm (5 3/4") Height. 12.5 cm (5") Width.

Weight: 148 grams.

Condition: Very good antique condition with only light signs of use in keeping with age. Silver has a few light tarnish marks and some light surface scratches. No breaks, dents or dab damage. Please see pictures.
