This stunning antique letter box which is made of English oak is unusual being a tall design and dates from around 1900.
This fabulous Victorian box has a sloping top with a brass plate which reads Letters and incorporates a letter slot.
The front has a hinged side opening door which is fitted with a brass Brahma lock and two bevelled glass removable panels. The top being where the postal collection times would have originally been and the lower one being a clear window to view the letters inside.
This beautiful quality letter box is a very nice usable item that also looks wonderful on display. Would make a great addition for the home, hotel, b&b or prop.
Please note that although the box comes with a key this does not operate the lock. The key does fit into the lock so it can be used as a handle to pull the door open. The door stays closed on the latch but cannot be locked. The post leaves card is not original.
