This very unusual trivet was made for the British Empire Exhibition at Wembley in 1924, is made of glass with a hallmarked silver decorated overlay and a central rampant Wembley lion.

The trivet is by the silversmith Docker & Burn Ltd, is fully hallmarked to the top for 1924 and inscribed "Wembley 1924".

Dating from the early 20th century, this trivet commemorates an interesting British historical event.

A great usable item that will look lovely on display and is an unusual collector's piece.

Material: Solid silver and glass.

Date: 1924.

Hallmarked: Fully hallmarked for silver, Birmingham, date letter Z for 1924 and with the maker's mark for Docker & Burn Ltd.

Diameter - 15 cm (6") approx.

Height - 7 mm.

Weight: 302 grams approx.

Condition: Good used antique condition with signs of use in keeping with age. The glass is in perfect condition. The silver overlay has some dings, light scratches and there is some bending to the shape of the lion but this does not affect the usability of the item. Due to the construction, the underside of the silver has not been cleaned.
