This antique French oil painting which is a portrait of a smartly dressed gentleman was well painted using oils on a wooden board in the first half of the 19th century and is mounted in a gilt wood frame.

This framed portrait is a nice size at 36.5 cm high, has an original Maison Dangleterre of Paris, France label to the rear of the frame from when it was mounted and is fitted with some hanging rear fixings so can be hung on a wall.

Maison Dangleterre were a renowned Parisian picture framer from the 19th century who were known for their high quality picture frames.

This good quality painting would make a wonderful decorative piece of antique art.

Dimensions of frame: Width: 32 cm (12 1/2"). Depth: 4.5 cm (1 3/4"). Height: 36.5 cm (14 1/4").

Dimensions of painting: Width: 16.5 cm (6 1/2"). Height: 20.5 cm (8").

Weight: 1.1 kg.

Condition: Good antique condition with signs of use in keeping with age. Artwork has some light crazing and small marks. Frame has chips, wear and damage mostly at the bottom. Please see pictures.
