This highly collectible antique French carnival shooting gallery target which is of a rabbit is made of painted cast iron, has mechanical workings and dates from the late 19th century.

This automated target would have been part of a fairground shooting game of skill where carnival goers would shoot at the rabbit and when the round target plate was hit the rabbit would spring backward.

A rare and collectible antique carnival piece that is in good working order and has a wonderful patina so looks great too.

Date: Late 19th century.

Dimensions: Width: 21 cm (8 1/4"). Depth: 6 cm (2 1/2"). Height (including wooden base): 24.5 cm (9 3/4").

Weight: 802 g.

Condition: Very nice decorative antique condition with signs of use and wear with a wonderful look. Some scratches and wear to paint leaving a great patina. In working order. The target has been later mounted on a simple wooden support so sits on a flat surface. Please see pictures.
