This fascinating sailor's woolwork picture of a warship flying a Union Jack flag is an original piece of folk art that has been handmade from wool and dates from c1905.
We believe this warship may possibly be HMS Dreadnought which is an important battleship serving as flagship of the Royal Navy's Home Fleet when commissioned and during WW1 became the only battleship ever to purposefully sink an enemy submarine.
This woolie is a nice size being 64 cm in length, has a dark wood frame and is glazed.
Dimensions: Length: 64 cm (25"). Height: 48 cm (19").
Weight: 3.9 kg.
Condition: Nice original condition with age related wear, marks and fading. Some loose strands. Glass is in good condition. Frame has some age related wear. Please see pictures.
Please note that only the picture is included and any other items in the pictures are for scale only.
