This fabulous glazed terracotta coat hook rack which originates from Bavent in France dates from the first half of the 20th century and is in the form of deer with glass eyes and real horns.
This highly decorative piece is designed to be mounted on a wall to be used as a key hanging rack or could be used as a whip rack and was almost certainly manufactured by the iconic Poterie du Mesnil de Bavent.
Poterie du Mesnil de Bavent is located in Calvados, Normandy and have been producing roofing accessories and architectural items since 1842. They are famous for their ceramic animals (cats, dogs, chickens etc).
A charming antique piece of Bavent that would look amazing on display and an interesting talking piece.
