This fabulous antique glazed terracotta wall pocket which originates from Bavent in France dates from c1900 and is in the form of an old lady carrying a cat.

This highly decorative figure is a large size, has a crackled effect to the glazed surface and was almost certainly manufactured by the iconic Poterie du Mesnil de Bavent.

Poterie du Mesnil de Bavent is located in Calvados, Normandy and have been producing roofing accessories and architectural items since 1842. They are famous for their ceramic animals (cats, dogs, chickens etc).

A quirky antique piece of ceramic that would look amazing on display and an interesting talking piece. Can be attached to the wall and used as a wall pocket / planter.

Condition: Original antique condition with lots of wear leaving a wonderful decorative look. All over chips and knocks. Has been repaired in the past. Please see pictures.
