This antique walking cane which dates from 1888 has a hand carved wood shaft which is decorated in high relief with an entwined snake, foliage and made to resemble thorn wood.
This folk art stick is a good length at 86 cm, has a silver top which is fully hallmarked, a silver collar and a brass ferrule.
A very nice piece for a walking stick collector.
Date: 1888.
Hallmarks: T.D for Thomas Davis. Lion for sterling silver. Leopards head for London. Letter N for 1888.
Length: 86 cm (34") approx.
Weight: 370 grams.
Condition: Good solid used antique condition with signs of use in keeping with age. Some scratches, small bruises, nibbles and general wear. Silver top has a small split. Please see pictures.
