This fabulous antique French carnival shooting gallery target which is of two males trying to remove one of their boots is made of painted cast iron and dates from the late 19th century.
This humorous automated target which has mechanical workings would have been part of a fairground shooting game where carnival goers would shoot at the target plate and when it was hit one of the men would fall backwards pulling off the other man's boot.
A rare and collectible antique carnival piece that is in working order and has a wonderful look and patina.
Material: Iron. Has been mounted on a simple wood base as a support.
Date: Late 19th century.

Condition: Very nice decorative antique condition with signs of use and wear with a wonderful look. Some scratches and wear to paint leaving a great patina. In working order. The target has been later mounted on a simple wooden support so sits on a flat surface. Please see pictures.
