This antique French weightlifter statue which is of a male athlete standing by a dumbell and 20 Kilogram iron weight has wonderful detail and dates from the late 19th century.
This large strongman figure is made of a bronze patinated cast metal with bronze highlights, is a heavy weight and has a raised square base which is inscribed with the name of BouRet (for Eutrope Bouret).
Eutrope Bouret was a French sculptor who exhibited in Paris, France regularly and was commissioned to sculpt the tombstone bust of the popular French novelist and fellow sculptor Alexis Bouvier.
An impressive figure that looks wonderful on display due to it's large size. Would also make a great trophy.

Marked: Inscribed with the name of BouRet (for Eutrope Bouret).
