Stock Number: DBC3137

£895.00

This rare botanist cane which dates from the late 19th century was invented and manufactured by Ceuilleuse Dubois (Adrien Dubois) of Paris, France.

This flower / fruit picker has a fruitwood handle which is marked with Fleurs to one side and Fruit to the other. This handle is fitted with a trigger which when pressed opens and closes the scissors grips at the other end of the cane to cut and hold your required specimen from a high or hard to reach area, remove buds or can also be used to remove caterpillar nests in high places. This is also embossed with the inventor and maker's details for Adrien Dubois and the Patent mark.

The handle end of the cane has a screw off cap in which sits a removable brush which botanist would use for cross pollination. The scissors have a removable brass walking cane ferrule which connects with a twist.

A rare and desirable cane that is in delightful original condition so would make a great collector's piece for a stick collector or gardener.
