This antique Japanese letter opener has a bronze Kozuka handle, dates from the Meiji period and has a silver blade that is marked with a fish type character.
The beautiful bronze handle is wonderfully decorated on both sides with real gold highlights which show off the craftsman's skill for detail and this one features a carp swimming amongst weed.
Material: Bronze. White metal (Tests as silver). Gold.
Date: Meiji period c1880.
Marks: Marked with a fish type character.

Condition: Excellent antique condition with some light signs of use in keeping with age. Some minor surface scratches and wear. Please see pictures. Comes in a gift box.
