This handsome Victorian metamorphic library chair which transforms from a chair into library steps dates from the late 19th century and is a nice versatile piece of antique furniture.
This well made chair has a beautiful ecclesiastical design similar to Pugin to the back rails, a hinged seat which folds and easily transforms into library steps by flipping over and securing with the metal bar/clasp.
A handsome, original and useful antique piece of furniture with a lovely patina and colour that will look fabulous in your home.
Date: Late 19th century - c1890.

Condition: Very good solid antique condition but showing the age nicely. Some chips, nibbles, cracks, surface scratches, marks, losses and old repairs leaving a wonderful decorative look. Has nice colour and character. Please see pictures.
