This handsome leather briefcase which is beautifully made is by prestigious luxury leather goods maker Foster & Son and dates from around the middle of the 20th century.
This hand crafted attache case is strong and durable being made from high quality leather, has a golden rich brown colour, a stitched leather handle with sturdy brass fittings and two brass locks/clasps which are working well but we do not have the key.
The inside of the case is fitted with leather stationery compartments and is marked with the maker's details of Foster & Son. London SW1, their fox and boots logo and Founded 1840.
Foster & Son was established in 1840 and made high quality handcrafted shoes, boots, and leather goods. After WW2 their growing Hollywood clientele included Cary Grant, Clark Gable, Charlie Chaplin and Fred Astaire. Today their shoes and leather goods continue to be in high demand both overseas and in the UK.
Foster and Son are also a trusted supplier of the iconic red Despatch Boxes which have long been seen entering and leaving No. 10 Downing Street securely carrying confidential documents for Her/His Majesty and the Prime Minister.
This is a very nice high quality usable briefcase by a top maker.

Condition: Excellent used antique condition with signs of use in keeping with age. The case is very sound and usable with good stitching, strong handle and corners. The brass locks work but we do not have the key. Please see pictures.
