This fabulous original antique lithograph advertising poster for Saphir cycles dates from c1912 and is of Francois Faber in Belgium.
Francois Faber was a racing cyclist from Luxembourg who was born in France. He was the first foreigner to win the Tour de France in 1909 and his record of winning 5 consecutive stages still stands. He died in World War I while fighting for France.
This original poster which still has the poster tax stamp attached is a great looking rare and collectible cycling poster.

Size: Width: 53 cm (21"). Height: 71 cm (28") approx.
Condition: Good original condition with some creasing, light spot marks and some staining from tack use. A couple of tiny tears. Printed area very good. Will be sent rolled. Please see pictures.
