This fascinating needlework sampler of Adam & Eve in the garden of Eden, titled Paradise is an original piece of folk art that was hand sewn by Ann Richards of Barrow Upon Soar in 1819.
This beautiful sampler which has lots of details including Adam & Eve, apple tree with serpent, flowers and a five line verse is a good size being 50 cm in width and comes in it's original wooden frame.
A fabulous Georgian example that is in excellent condition and over 200 years old.
Date: 1819.

Condition: Very good antique condition with some age related wear, marks and light fading. Frame has some age related wear, staining under glass and shrinkage. Comes in it's original wooden frame. The back has been re-sealed. Please see pictures.
