This stunning Belgian antique church banner which dates from the 19th century is beautifully decorated showing images of the devil and a saint standing on the stairs to heaven or hell.

This religious procession banner has a velvet background with gold braid fringing and is decorated with different semi precious stones such as pearls and turquoise. The central scene of the devil and the saint pointing to heaven have wonderful detail such as padded bodies which give a 3D effect, braid stitching and painted faces.

This 19th century excellent quality procession banner has a carved gilded wooden top so it could be carried at a procession and would have also been displayed in a church.

A highly decorative and unique antique that has a fabulous look. An ideal interior designer's piece.

Condition: Very nice decorative antique condition with signs of use with a wonderful look. Some missing gold braid fringe and stones. Some loose threads, small tears and general wear. A small piece missing to the edge of the hanger. Please see pictures.
