This antique tankard which has a large side handle is made of silver plate, made by renowned maker James Dixon and Sons and dates from the first half of the 20th century.

This stylish mug has a plain tapered design, the base is stamped with EP and with the maker's marks for James Dixon and Sons.

A very nice antique piece that is in excellent condition so would make an ideal gift.

James Dixon & Sons was a renowned Sheffield-based manufacturer established in 1806, becoming one of the most significant British producers of sterling silver, Electroplated Nickel Silver (EPNS), pewter, and Britannia metal. They were known for high-quality sporting accessories, barware and iconic items like the Hales Trophy.
