This stunning antique cinder or ash pan which is made of polished brass has a wonderful Aesthetic Japanese inspired pattern, is by renowned designer Thomas Jeckyll and made by top maker Barnard, Bishop & Barnards.
This excellent quality piece dates from the 1870's, bears the registered date lozenge to the inside, two carrying handles and is a rare item as it comes complete with it's stepped insert.

Thomas Jekyll is regarded as an important figure in the Aesthetic Movement and the V&A have some of his designs in their collection.
