This large, heavy and impressive cricket trophy cup which is made of silver plate dates from 1916 and was the winner's trophy for the Norton & District Cricket League Challenge Cup.

This stunning trophy is nicely engraved to the front with the inscription Norton & District Cricket League Challenge Cup. Presented By Herbert Robinson Esq. December 1916 and also has the winners details engraved to the outer of the cup and base every year following 1916 through to 1976. This was engraved every year during that time except for the 6 years during WW2.

This fascinating trophy, which has a fitted lid topped with a figure of a cricket bowler that has very nice detail, two large handles and sits on it's black presentation base.

This unique and early trophy which has an impressive height at 51 cm would make a fine collector's item and would be an ideal museum piece.

Date: 1916.

Dimensions of trophy: 29 cm (11 1/4") Width across at handles. 42 cm (16 1/2") Height.

Dimensions to include stand: 51 cm (20") Height.

Total weight: 2860 grams.

Condition: Excellent antique condition with signs of use in keeping with age. Some light marks, surface scratches, tarnishing and general wear. The black base is a modern replacement that looks as though it has been especially made for this trophy as the trophy fits well. Please see pictures.
