This handsome antique cordite carrier which is made of a thick dark leather that has a wonderful patina, has copper rivets, lift off lid with top leather handle and strap.

This unusual riveted carrier originated from France and would have been used to carry artillery ammunition. Today this would make a fabulous and decorative stick / umbrella stand which fits nicely in a hallway and has a fabulous look.

Date: c1900.

Dimensions: Diameter: 23 cm (9"). Height: 60.5 cm (23 3/4") plus handle.

Weight: Approx 4 kg.

Condition: Beautiful antique condition with a wonderful patina. Nice and strong with some age related wear with scuffs and scrapes. Please see pictures.
