This highly decorative antique riding whip rack which is in the unusual form of a musical lyre is made of wood and has brass decoration.
This antique rack has brass rods which resemble a lyre's strings, brass flower decoration and 8 decorative brass hooks which are marked to the reverse with their maker's marks for Clarke and Timmins and their registered design number 226272 which dates to 1894. Clarke and Timmins are Brass founders of 24 Holloway Head, Birmingham.
Can be fixed to a wall by removing two of the hooks, screwing the stand to the wall and then refitting the hooks to cover the screws so your wall fittings will not be visible.
A wonderful decorative antique in fabulous condition that is a good usable piece. Could be used as an equestrian whip rack or could also be used as a coat or hat stand.
