This wonderful antique pair of gentlemen's riding boots which date from the early 1900's are made of black leather and are by Henry Maxwell, Dover Street, London who are a top bootmaker that have been making bespoke quality boots for over 250 years. They come with their original complete four piece wooden boot trees that are a fantastic colour and as they were made especially for these boots fit snugly.

As they are bespoke items the boots do not have the size shown but they are a very large size and estimated at a size 12. Please see measurements below.

Both boot trees have the Maxwell ivorine plaque to the top. The boots have the maker's details inside with Royal Warrants and pull tags. They have leather soles and are in wonderful condition.

Henry Maxwell was founded in 1750 and is the oldest of the remaining bootmakers in London. By the mid 19th century the firm was prospering internationally and was awarded the first of its many Royal Warrants by King George IV. By the early 20th century, before the horse was superseded by motorised transport, Henry Maxwell had grown dramatically and supplied boots, shoes and a wide range of riding and hunting accessories from shops in London and Paris.

This pair of antique boots and boot trees are extremely well made items of footwear that not only look stunning on display but are a usable item for antique boot/shoe collectors and would make a super item for a shoe shop display, riding school, Polo club or just a stunning piece of home decor.
