This unusual vintage emergency fire escape rope which has wool threads dates from 1939 and comes in it's original Minimax metal storage tin. The tin has the maker's details of Minimax Ltd to the top and instructions with the date of manufacture to the inside 1939.

The rope would have been used in case of a fire by attaching one end securely and lowering the rope to the ground so one can make their escape. The wool threads would stop the rope from burning their hands.

Both the rope and the tin have a wonderful decorative look and they make an interesting display piece. Would make a great talking piece and a nice unusual feature for a bar, hotel or shop. A great museum piece.
