This handsome antique English Oak salad trophy bowl which dates from c1900 has a silver plated rim, has an unusual design with it's two ornate silver plated handles having wood turning decoration, sits on it's silver plated stepped foot and has a vacant shield cartouche on both sides so could be engraved if you so wished.

This decorative bowl has a fixed ceramic lining, and comes with some silver plate and wood salad spoons which are by John Sherwood of Birmingham.

A very nice usable antique piece that could be used for serving salad, fruit, nuts and makes a wonderful display or trophy bowl with it's stylish look.

Material: Oak. Silver plate.

Date: c1900.

Bowl: Diameter including handles: 34 cm (13 1/4"). Diameter: 23.5 cm (9 1/4"). Height to top of handles: 15 cm cm (6").

Spoons: Length: 30 cm (11 3/3"). Width: 5 cm (2").

Total weight: 2.4 kg.

Condition: Very good decorative condition with signs of use and wear with a wonderful look. The silver plate has some wear, tarnish and light surface scratches. Ceramic bowl is in good condition with no cracks. Please see pictures.
