These two unusual antique Stoolball bats which date from c1900 are an interesting and collectable sporting item.

These wood bats have spliced handles with twine binding, raised spines and have a rich colour.

These bats are very decorative so would look great on display in a sports bar or home. It is unusual to have a matching pair.

Stoolball is an ancient English game which has been played for over 500 years. It is the origin of baseball and perhaps cricket too, and is mentioned in Shakespeare's The Two Noble Kinsmen.

Condition. Good used antique condition with lots of wonderful patina and wear. Some cracking, chips, dents and loss of some twine. Please see pictures.
