This interesting Sterling Silver snooker trophy cup which has two crossed snooker cues and snooker balls to the front is hallmarked for Chester 1937 and has an interesting inscription that reads R . A . C. Snooker Foursomes Challenge Cup. Replica. 1937 - Rev J.Hall-Yarr. G Hamilton-Browne.
This handsome two handled cup would have been a snooker trophy awarded for the tournament in 1937 between Rev J Hall-Yarr and G. Hamilton-Browne who were members of the R.A.C (Royal Automobile Club).
I have done a little research and it appears that Reverend J. Hall-Yarr raced his 12/50 Alvis at Brooklands.
This trophy would make a unique collectors piece for a snooker fan or RAC memorabilia collector.
