This hallmarked silver golf trophy which features three crossed golf clubs with a golf ball holder at the top is by Sanders & Mackenzie and is unusual as the base section is also made of silver with a wood bottom.
The sterling silver base has some engine turned decoration and bears an interesting inscription reading

Material: Sterling silver trophy.
Maker: Sanders & Mackenzie.
Hallmark: Fully hallmarked with Lion for sterling silver. Anchor for Birmingham. Date letter X and maker's mark S&M for Sanders & Mackenzie.
Dimensions: Diameter at base: 11.5 cm (4 1/2"). Height to top of trophy (not including ball): 21 cm (8 1/4").
Total weight: 556 g (trophy has a weighted base).
Condition: Very good antique condition with light signs of use in keeping with age. Silver has a few tarnish marks, light surface scratches and small dings. Base is weighted. Please see pictures.
