This fabulous articulated Santos figure of Jesus Christ which dates from the 18th century is made of wood and has pegged lay figure type joints which move so the figure can be positioned in various poses.

This antique mannequin lay figure which originates from Spain is a tall fellow at 64 cm high, has original painted features to the face, hair, beard and has an amazing patina and look.

Santos figures were used in religious ceremonies and parades across the continent.

A rare and collectible antique piece.

Condition: Good antique condition with lots of age related wear giving a wonderful decorative look. Some cracking, chips, wear, missing pieces and old repairs. Movable joints are very creaky. Some joints are loose and some are tight. Some old woodworm which has been treated. Please see pictures.
