This unusual antique Stoolball bat which dates from c1900 is an interesting and collectible bat that has a wonderful patina.
This wooden bat has a spliced handle with twine binding, raised central spine and has a beautiful rich colour.
Stoolball is an ancient English game which has been played for over 500 years. It is the origin of baseball and perhaps cricket too, and is mentioned in Shakespeare's The Two Noble Kinsmen.
A very nice decorative piece so would look great on display in a sports bar or home.
